Aimirim is a startup founded by researchers from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in Brazil, that started operating in the industrial market in 2016. They offer a complete platform with advanced automation, analytics and IoT sensors products to support clients in their digital transformation towards the Industry 4.0.

In his keynote, Renato Pacheco Silva, CEO of Aimirim, highlighted a large digital model used for moisture control.

The model is using a set of technologies offered by Aimirim: Advanced process control (APC), Real-time optimization (RTO) and Machine Learning (ML). These are deployed on the shopfloor through an innovative architecture, embedded in an edge device they communicate to the PLC to write decisions automatically. Aimirim’s 4diac IDE plugin enables the seamless deployment to the Universal Automation (UAO) runtime environment, aligning with open automation standards like IEC 61499. This setup forms the backbone of Aimirim’s Industry 4.0 solutions for software-defined facilities.
